My original character, Kuchinagimaru.
Actually, I just wanted to draw a guy with a sword.
Started off as a random doodle, but liked enough to color it.

I suppose it is an influence from reading "Romance of Three Kingdoms", which has a lot of descriptions about wars and generals who fought in it.



The idea:
<sup>Kuchinagimaru(OC) succeeded Kureha(OC)'s father's position and given the guardian sword when Kureha was enthroned as the Matriarch.
It was briefly mentioned in a form of conversation between Teiroushin and a young servant in the chapter 9 [link] of "An Emergence".

The Orochi guardian sword has several special abilities, one of which is that it boosts the power of wielder eightfold. The effect only works on the proper wielder chosen as the clan's guardian.

8 is a special number for the Orochi, whose ancestor was said to be an eight headed serpent (also mentioned in chapter 9) The number of apparitions Kureha can call forth is also eight, which can transform into eight specter serpents.
Name of their island, "Yamata" means "eight prongs" (or eight branches)</sup>

The character and concept are my own, based on the premise of my story.
