I experimented with combining hand painted ink wash elements with my regular drawing in this pic.
The main reason I like working with monochrome is because I want to bring out the "tales from the past" feel. (And that is the reason why I like the story!) Please full view! Timeline wise, this scene precedes Young Sesshoumaru 3 and Young Sesshoumaru 4. According to the narrative, pics should be seen in the order of #5, #3, #4. UPDATE : I did a couple of dad/son sparring scenes after this one. Young Sesshoumaru 6 Young Sesshoumaru 6B This pic is inspired from the opening scene of Inuyasha movie 3. It is my favorite Inuyasha movie, only because Sesshoumaru is featured more in it, though the plot was weak I thought. However the opening scene stirred my imagination. I wanted to add a little bit of my take on it. It is the moment of their last meeting, and they both know it. The father and the son did not see each other face to face. In the movie, you only see a section of father's face in this scene, and they were placed further apart. I also made Sesshoumaru look bit older. OMG this is the first time I thought Sesshoumaru was rather "simple" to do..... Young Sesshoumaru-sama does not know what his father has in store for him at this point. The father must have understood his first-born's strength and shortcomings very well. (I'd like to think so!) I mean, Tenseiga did test him well and brought out his best quality in my point of view. I still like the concept, that the sword he did not ask for, Tenseiga was given to Sesshoumaru...the sword that could take and return lives...though unfortunately in the cannon the quality of Tenseiga is for some reason not considered as highly as all offense add-on sword Tetsusaiga... Well anyway, I love the fact he kept the sword at his side always, despite the fact for the longest time he thought it was useless. Sesshoumaru and Inu no Taishou are Rumiko Takahashi's characters. This drawing is foo-dog's. PLEASE DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE. |
