Sesshoumaru and Rin: A Plea

It looks like this is the very last piece of this year. Happy New Year !
I did something I usually don't do with this pic.
Which is, to draw Sesshoumaru from his right hand side. He is so designed to be presented from his left side, with all the details being on the left side, and the right side is covered with fur.
Plus, I'm right-handed so it was a challenge.

I wanted to come up with a situation when Sesshoumaru denies Rin's wish.

The situation I was thinking about:
Rin finds a badly wonded fox pup, (not Shippo, just an ordinary one ) and despite her effort, it dies on her. She wants Sesshoumaru to save it with Tenseiga, and Sesshoumaru rejects her plea.
(NOTE: Rin intuitively understands him that he would say no, but she still tries anyway...)

Sesshoumaru would not do it, even if it is Rin's plea.
(and it is given that Tenseiga is NOT stirred or anything at this moment )
Tenseiga's ability is not meant to change the fate of living things. (well, that's how I would like to see it)
I'd imagine the sword is to "link" the fate that has been broken, though only once.
Speaking of "link", the sword surely linked their fate....

Here, I'm thinking Sesshoumaru's rejection is not because he is concerned about misuse of Tenseiga, but because he feels that the fox had lived its intended life.
He is not going to change that just because Rin asked him to.
The pup will not survive alone in the wilderness even if it stayed alive.

But what moves him more is the image of Rin.
As he sees Rin with the dead pup in her arms, (The image of her is reminiscent of Sesshoumaru himself in Meikai 2 a little bit. ) Sesshoumaru may be thinking about Rin's one last transient life-- something he cannot bring back any longer if it is lost, no matter how much he wanted to.

Anyway, that is the story behind this pic. I like to come up with a mini tale with each pic.
I like the distance between them. I like to depict him not as sappy as a human. Because, he isn't.
