Experiment #3. following the same recipe as previous two portraits. Full view please, since small size distorts the image.


After making portraits of Kuchinagimaru [link] and Sesshoumaru [link] I had to do Kureha, to complete the triangle situation currently simmering in my story, "An Emergence". :XD:
(all chapters are in my gallery)

Stuff going on around her is there because I wanted to give a mysterious feel to the portrait, and mysterious things can happen around her, since she is a daiyoukai. :D

This is really a great style/technique/not-sure-what-to-call-it for you. It looks like a traditional painting, acrylic maybe. I like your other style too, but this is certainly good for portraits! Looks almost like they "sat" for you!

:D thanks. yes it's a unique look, it's still based on manga drawing, but the painterly quality seems to add touch of "life" without forcing the image into realism.

Wow... this is just... wow.
This is so beautiful, I REALLY truly would buy it if I could. Or at least have a high-def wallpaper for my comp. It's so pretty it makes me want to cry. (This could be partly bc it's after midnight and I'm very tired, lol)
The lighting on her face, the light in the eyes, the delicate detail in the kimono pattern, it's all so wonderful! I like the little white things... not sure if they're snow or fireflies or what, but they're cool.
Sometimes I wish I had a "super favorites" category on devArt. I would put this in it.

the lighting is very nice. I really wish I could get a larger pic to put on my wallpaper. Promise I won't distribute it.

i have to look at the picture to see the actual size, but this one is squareish, though. what's the size of your screen?
